Air India, today, unveiled its new brand identity and a revamp of its offering. A function was held in Delhi in the presence of Tata group chairman  N Chandrasekaran. In preparation of the reveal, Air India’s X (formerly Twitter) feed had its logos from the past today.

The logo unveil was to begin at 1900 hrs IST, but a few minutes to this – the public youtube link where the ceremony was to be broadcasted had the logo visible. A damper for such a huge event.

The event began with a nice music performance and quickly followed by a very beautiful video of the logo. The group chairman then took the stage to talk about the vision and ambition of the airline with special focus on how they are “all in” when it comes to being committed. The Chairman talked about the best of Machine Learning and Artificial intelligence being deployed in Air India, than any other airline. This was followed by the new livery being unveiled which sees the “AIR INDIA” titles on the fuselage, much larger than what it currently is but sees the Jharokha windows disappearing.

The new livery is a modern new brand identity and a major milestone in its Vihaan.AI transformation strategy. The new look reimagines the iconic Indian window shape, historically used by Air India, into a gold window frame that becomes central to the new brand design system – symbolising a ‘Window of Possibilities’. The four colors represent the four classes of service.

Air India’s new logo symbol – ‘The Vista’ – is inspired by the peak of the gold window frame, signifying limitless possibilities, progressiveness, and the airline’s bold, confident outlook for the future.

Air India’s brand-new aircraft livery and design features a palette of deep red, aubergine, and gold highlights, as well as a chakra-inspired pattern. It also boasts a striking new custom-made ‘Air India Sans’ font, marrying confidence with warmth to position Air India as premium, inclusive, and accessible.

Travellers will begin to see the new logo throughout their journey starting December 2023, when Air India’s first Airbus A350 enters the fleet in the new livery.
