Digi Yatra, the government initiative backed by airport operators has been in the dock for various reasons in the past. From the slow roll out to security, a lot of questions have been raised. However, it turns out that its usage has been increasing since inception, shows data released by the government in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of parliament , in response to a question.
Digi Yatra is now available at 24 airports in the country. These are Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Guwahati, Kochi, Jaipur, Varanasi, Vijayawada, Goa – Dabolim, Goa – Mopa, Indore, Bhubaneshwar, Vizag, Patna, Raipur, Coimbatore, Ranchi and Bagdogra.
Bengaluru, often referred to as the Silicon valley of India tops the usage of Digi Yatra with over 76 lakh passengers opting for Digi Yatra between January to November this year. This is followed by Delhi, the largest airport in the country at 57.28 lakh passengers. Mumbai comes third at 37.92 lakh passengers.

For context, Bengaluru handled 31 lakh passengers in October, which includes both arrivals and departures. About 7.5 lakh out of these were users of Digi Yatra.
Cumulatively 1.9 crore downloads have taken place for Digi Yatra app. This number was 38 lakhs at the end of 2023.
