Joramco, the Amman-based aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility and engineering arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), has signed a maintenance agreement with India’s leading global carrier and Star Alliance member Air India for the first time.

Announced at the recent MRO Asia-Pacific in Singapore, this agreement gives Joramco the opportunity to perform heavy maintenance checks on Air India’s fleet of Boeing B787s and B777s. VT-ALQ, Air India B777-300ER is already in Amman right now. Air India and Turkish Technik had a partnership for checks on Air India’s B787 and B777s. Air India along with IndiGo faced flak post Operation Sindoor for its ties with Turkey. Turkey was one of the three countries which openly backed Pakistan.

Air India’s CEO Campbell Wilson had made a reference to its partnership with Turkish companies and had stated that it would look for other options, which now seem to have been found. IndiGo on the other hand has not broken ties with Turkish Airlines with the government allowing extension of Turkish Airways aircraft for the airline.
