Dine in an Airbus A380 at Singapore Changi!

Singapore’s Changi Airport has always been on the forefront of innovation. Home carrier Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced Discover your Singapore Airlines campaign which comprises three exciting and new initiatives as termed by the airline.

The airline is starting Restaurant@Changi where guests can enjoy the Singapore Airlines service inside the Airbus A380. Most airlines, including Singapore Airlines, have benched all or majority of their A380s as airlines across the world struggle amidst tepid demand and lack of travel as the world is in the middle of a pandemic.

Diners can choose from special menus for each cabin class and options include signature international cuisine, as well as best dishes from Peranakan menu designed by acclaimed Singaporean chef Shermay Lee. There will also be an exclusive pre-lunch tour of the A380 with limited slots. The diners will receive KrisShop discounts and the airline will offer a limited edition goodie bag and additional gifts if patrons turn up in traditional heritage wear.

The restaurant will operate only on two days – 24th and 25th of October and reservations start on 12th October.

If patrons cannot make it to the A380, the airline is launching SIA@Home for customers who are keen to enjoy the SIA in-flight dining experience at home. Customers can choose from 10 menus featuring exclusive First Class and Business Class meals which will be served with wine or champagne. Limited edition dinig ware and amenities are also available and this special cabin crew concierge service for SIA@Home bookings open on 5th October 2020. One of the chefs is Chef Sanjeev Kapoor!

The package includes options like Wine and Dine, Champagne and Dine; Wine, Dine and Tableware; First Class Experience; Business Class experience amongst others.

In early September, Thai Airways started offering in-flight meals at THAI Restaurant which has come up at the airline’s head quarter in Bangkok.
