Go Air opens reservation for its International flights

Indian Low Cost Carrier Go Air opened reservations for its first International flights today. The airline will connect its hub of Mumbai and Delhi to Phuket in Thailand and Male, Maldives. Delhi and Mumbai are the two biggest hubs for the airline and sees 19.6% and 14.8% of current departures respectively.

The flights between Delhi and Phuket would operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays, effective 11th October. The departure from Delhi is scheduled at 0110 hours, reaching Phuket at 0725 hours. The return flight would depart at 0830 hours and land in Delhi at 1155 hours. Phuket will also be connected to Mumbai starting 13th of October with thrice a week flights operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The flight would depart Mumbai at 0125 hours and reach Phuket at 0725 hours. The return flight would land in Mumbai at noon, after departing Phuket at 0830 hours. The Delhi – Phuket distance is 3174 kms while Mumbai – Phuket is 3004 kms.

Flights to Male will be effective 14th October from Mumbai and 17th October from Delhi. The Mumbai – Male flight would depart Mumbai at 1330 hours and reach Male at 1550 hours on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The return flight would depart at 1650 hours and reach Mumbai at 2000 hours. The flight to Male from Delhi would operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with departure planned at 1245 hours from Delhi which would reach Male at 1620 hours and the return planned to depart Male at 1720 hours, reaching Delhi at 2210 hours. Delhi – Male is a distance of 2724 kms while Male is 1650 kms away from Mumbai.

Phuket is the third busiest airport in Thailand and the island is popular amongst tourists from India. Thailand offers visa on arrival for Indians. Male on the other hand has been facing turbulent times due to strained relations between the governments amidst increased Chinese influence. This will be the first connection from India to Phuket while Male is served by Spicejet and Air India with connections from Trivandrum, Bengaluru, Kochi and Maldivian flies to Kochi.

The airline has announced inaugural fares of INR 18,999 for return flights to Phuket from Mumbai or Delhi and between Delhi and Male, while the Mumbai – Male return fares are priced at INR 17,999.

Go Air currently operated a fleet of 38 aircraft comprising 19 each of A320ceo and A320neo and would operate 1680 flights per week. The schedule will see some modifications starting at the end of October.
